University of Victoria – Elliott Building Seismic Upgrade & Renovations

The Project involved asbestos abatement, upgrade of the life safety systems, replacement of entire exterior glazing systems, and seismic upgrade of the fully occupied 5 storey office building and 4 story lab wing. The building was hoarded to provide a clean and safe separation of the occupants from the construction activities. Noisy and intrusive work was schedule around the University schedule. The total construction cost of $5,965,000 was completed in February 2011, 1 month ahead of schedule and under the original budget value.
